Creep-fatigue characteristics of rock salt under different loading paths

چکیده

The salt behavior subjected to creep-fatigue load is meaningful ensure the stability of cavities used for underground energy storage. specimens are tested under three paths load, including creep followed by fatigue (C + F), (F C) and (CF). stress-strain curves, deformation, loading modulus acoustic emission (AE) count were systematically analyzed. axial, lateral volumetric deformations present a four-phase two-phase change trend at C F CF loading, respectively. deformation curve an individual or stage resembles that in pure tests. prior decreases strain rate subsequent phase. rock stage, presents downward with increasing cycle numbers samples loading. hold time during loading-unloading exerts little effect on variation modulus. increases irreversible each induces be prone dilate Continuous AE activities monitored while minor responses develop phase These results suggest combined sequence simultaneously result negative positive interaction between them, explained from viewpoint micro-mechanism. • Creep-fatigue tests different stress conducted salt. counts

Presenting an experimental creep model for rock salt

During the recent decades, the design and construction of underground spaces into rock salt have been particularly regarded for storing petroleum fluids, natural gas, and compressed air energy, and also for disposing nuclear and chemical wastes. The rock salt hosting such spaces will be subjected to various types of monotonic/cyclic, short-term/long-term stresses during the construction and/or ...

Self-Healing Characteristics of Damaged Rock Salt under Different Healing Conditions

Salt deposits are commonly regarded as ideal hosts for geologic energy reservoirs. Underground cavern construction-induced damage in salt is reduced by self-healing. Thus, studying the influencing factors on such healing processes is important. This research uses ultrasonic technology to monitor the longitudinal wave velocity variations of stress-damaged rock salts during self-recovery experime...

Study on Creep Characteristics of Cemented Waste Rock Backfills

Slip instability and tensor instability are two kinds of failure modes of cemented waste rock backfills. In order to simulate the creep characteristics of cemented waste rock backfills, PFC was carried out. The results show that: rocks inside the models will have displacement under load. The expansion is caused by large lateral displacement of the rocks. A non-stationary creep model of cemented...

Biodegradation of polyurethane under fatigue loading.

A method utilizing expansion of a diaphragm-type film specimen was developed to study in vitro biodegradation of poly(etherurethane urea) (PEUU) under conditions of dynamic loading (fatigue). A finite element model was used to describe the strain state, which ranged from uniaxial at the edges of the film to balanced biaxial tensile strain at the center. During testing, the film was exposed to a...

Fatigue Analysis for Structures under Stochastic Loading

Predicting the peak distribution of stochastic stress responses is critical for various fatigue analysis problems with stochastic uncertainties. In this paper, a method, based on the first-order reliability method (FORM), is proposed for estimating the peak distribution of stochastic response. The method linearizes the stochastic process at the associated most probable point. After linearizatio...
